Study activities

As a student at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH), you can engage in climate and sustainability issues in many ways. We guide you through your options and help you get started.

Actory

Would you like to learn more about sustainability in general? Then Actory is the place for you. All students are welcome at Actory, even if you are not participating in Actory's courses.

What is Actory?

Actory is a space for sustainable engagement: a playground, a workshop, a laboratory and a community for students who want to further sustainable change in the real world – both on a small scale and in the long term.

Through Actory, students from the University of Copenhagen and other universities are invited to collaborate across disciplines to create, initiate, and implement sustainability activities. These activities can be both internal to the University of Copenhagen and related to society.

Actory was established by the University of Copenhagen and byStudents and is located in Studenterhuset at Købmagergade 52, Copenhagen.

In the following sections, you can read more about two of Actory's initiatives for you:

  • STIMULUS student workshops
  • The Open Innovation event.

STIMULUS – Green student workshops across disciplines

STIMULUS is a series of events for students interested in sustainability.

Students from all faculties and disciplines are welcome to sign up. At each event, three subject experts will give presentations that will form the basis for your discussions, questions and collaboration.

As a participant, you can look forward to:

  • gaining exclusive insights from researchers
  • sharing your knowledge and experiences with other students
  • enjoying a free meal in inspiring surroundings.

Through your conversations and shared reflections, you will foster new connections and ideas that enhance the academic and societal approach to sustainable solutions.

Where and when is the next workshop?

Actory holds six STIMULUS events annually. They all take place at Studenterhuset and are announced on an ongoing basis.

You can stay up to date on the next STIMULUS workshop via Actory and our event calendar.

At OpenInnovation, you can look forward to:

  • receiving feedback from experts
  • meeting new collaborators
  • working actively with green transition.

Who can participate in OpenInnovation?

All students can apply – you just need to be interested in thinking outside the box and working as part of a team.

When is the next event?

OpenInnovation 2026 will take place on 20, 21, 22 and 26 February.
