Green institution

The transformation of our society and consumption towards sustainability requires a massive effort – including at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH), where our approximately 10,000 staff and 37,000 students have a significant climate and resource footprint. At the same time, the University's researchers and students have unique knowledge of – and solutions to – the challenges we face.

The University therefore has a responsibility to turn this knowledge into concrete action and significantly reduce the organisation's emissions. Climate action is a particularly high priority, and UCPH has set a target of halving its climate footprint per staff member and student by 2030.
